Aspen Ladd began her journey in combat sports at the age of 14. Aspen Ladd trained in kickboxing, BJJ, boxing and wrestling before making her first appearance as an amateur at WCFC when she was 18. Ladd was on a stunning three-fight winning streak in Ultimate Reno Combat. In each of the three bouts she beat her opponent right in the first round. Then she returned to WCFC and beat Leslie Rodriguez via unanimous decision. Aspen first defeated Silvia Babyghian before going on to fight Maddy Simmons at WCFC 9 and fought Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia beat Aspen as she beat her with a unanimous decision. Cynthia's amateur records were affected. Ladd defeated Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff to improve her record for amateurs to 8-1. Aspen made her pro debut in 2015 when she signed with Invicta FC. Invicta Fc 11 she dominated Ana Carolina Vidal and won the bout in the one round with a TKO. Invicta 16, she was able to move from Bantamweight to the fight against Amanda Cooper by armbar in the second round. Aspen employed the strong techniques she learned from wrestling to defeat McGill. She ended her fight via the TKO (3rd round) (elbows and punches). The next fight was against Jessica Hoy at Invicta FC 18 at catchweight(138.1lb) since Ladd did not reach her weight, but Aspen dominated Hoy and finished her in the second round via TKO. The Invicta Fight Night 21 was her final bout for the company. She defeated Sijara Ebanks with a majority decision. Aspen Ladd debuted in the UFC in the 118th UFC Fight Night 118, with a bout against Lina Langsberg. She outclassed Lina through her ground and pound techniques and earned the TKO 2nd round win. Her dominance grew and she scored a more impressive win during her next fight against Tonya Evinger, at UFC 229 Ladd defeated Evinger to the punch in the first round and earned a performance of the night bonus. Invicta FC's Sijara Eubanks was her opponent for the rematch that took place at UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was her first major match. Ladd took home an unanimous decision in an intense back and forth battle among the pair of fighters received her Fight of the Night bonuses. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie defeated Ladd within just 16 seconds, ending her win streak. Yana Knitskaya was defeated in UFC 7 ESPN 7's 3rd round, lost to Randamie. For a rematch, she fought Norma Dumont in her most recent UFC fight. She lost by unanimous decision.
